Fortunately for those of us seeking her input and guidance, there are enough years behind her compassionate eyes, that earn her points for experience and knowledge. Maggie has proven herself to be wholly interested in the success and well being of the people in her life. God has blessed her with a sincere gift of care and concern, and her sweet southern upbringing has softened her delivery of truth, just when the truth may sting a little. You'll get no enabling or excuses from Maggie, but rather gentle reminders and love nudges to help you make the right choice.
She is not a "people pleaser," instead she chooses words, actions and ideas that help us come to our own conclusions about our lives, choices and circumstances. You won't get buried with lectures or have your ear talked off. You'll be enlightened with praise where it is due, and consideration where tenderness may be needed.
In short, (and that is not a reference to Maggie's height), I consider Maggie among the most valuable blessings God has provided me over the years. Her presence in my life, though it may not be her physical closeness, but rather spiritual relationship we have grown, has been a source of comfort and hope. She need not be right there to provide the support.
